Scrap trader used chip to under weigh – caught

The officials of IL&FS Engineering company busted a major rail project scrap underselling racket run by using an electronic chip installed in the truck scale. The person accused was operating the chip with a remote control to show less weight than the actual scrap being taken out of the company. The FIR was lodged against three people, Ikrarmulla, Shailendra Lodhi and Veer Prakash.

The racket was detected when Naik, the manager and the mechanic engineer noticed a truck full of scrap showing a weight of only 8 tonnes. According to the FIR, Ikrarmulla was given the contract for lifting up the scrap in Dec 2017. The two people arrested in the case confessed that the chip was given to them by Ikrarmulla.

The police have seized the chip and have sent it for forensic examination to know how it worked. Delhi police have been informed to apprehend Ikrarmulla
