Atlas RFID, a leading provider of RFID hardware and solutions, has selected the RFIDRunner from Graph-Tech USA (GTUS) to support growing demand for high-speed UHF RFID label production across North America.

Atlas RFID offers RFID technology, barcoding hardware, custom products, professional services, software, and end-to-end IoT solutions. Since its founding in 2008, the company has grown into one of the largest RFID distributors in North America by combining an online sourcing platform with hands-on account management and consultative support.
One of its fastest-growing segments is UHF RFID labels, driven by increasing demand across industries, including retail automation initiatives and large-scale compliance programs such as the Walmart RFID mandate. RFID labels enable businesses to identify and track products and assets automatically using radio frequency, eliminating line-of-sight scanning and significantly improving speed and accuracy.
“We were looking for an RFID system to help us meet higher customer demand and scale to larger RFID jobs,” remarks Jeff Patterson, service bureau manager at Atlas RFID. “We expect this market to grow even more in the next couple of years as more retailers and industries adopt RFID. This is only the beginning.”
To support this growth, Atlas RFID implemented the RFIDRunner, a high-speed, inkjet-based RFID encode and print system designed and manufactured by Graph-Tech USA.
“Graph-Tech proved to have the knowledge and flexibility to meet our needs,” Patterson states. “Their installation and training process, combined with exceptional post-sale support, made adoption a smooth transition. As a result, we now produce twice the number of labels with a single RFIDRunner compared to ten thermal printers, and we continue to scale.”
He also highlighted operational improvements, including lower cost per label, reduced labor requirements, and enhanced quality control through integrated camera verification. “The print quality is excellent and a clear improvement over thermal printing,” he adds.
As RFID adoption accelerates, Atlas RFID is positioned to further expand its production capabilities and support customers with scalable, high-performance RFID solutions.
“Atlas RFID was very thorough from the start. You could immediately tell they know their business,” says Markus Portmann, president of Graph-Tech USA. “They asked tough questions and had high expectations. We’re proud they selected our platform. What sets us apart is that we don’t just provide components – we deliver a complete turnkey system, including the controller, inkjet, transport, full integration, and after-sales support.”
The Graph-Tech RFIDRunner and eZ-Inkjet technology will be showcased at Expográfica 2026 in Guadalajara, May 6–9, at Firedrop’s Booth 3235, and Loupe Americas 2026 (formerly Labelexpo) in Chicago, September 15–17, Booth 6133. News & Image Source
