Green Club, Legal Metrology Dept educate students on consumer protection in Zbto

A one day awareness programme on consumer protection and rights was organised at Zunheboto Government College by Green Club Zunheboto in collaboration with Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Department, Nagaland.

Advocate Tovi Z Yeptho the resource person highlighted the various consumer rights under consumer protection Act 1986 and 2019 (Amended Act) to the students. He encouraged the students to be alert, wise and utilize their knowledge to protect consumers against any form of consumer exploitation and talked about how a consumer can approach the consumer court at the district, state and national level.
A step by step process on how to file a complaint for consumer redressal was also addressed during the session.
He further encouraged the students to come to the office and avail the opportunity to know more about consumer rights and protection as well as to get the printed copies on Consumer Act.
Earlier in the program Tavinto K Sumi, President Green Club Zunheboto chaired the session. Further Green Club Zunheboto acknowledged and thanked the college authority for the opportunity to conduct the programme in the college and to MLA & Advisor for F&CS and LM&CP KT Sukhalu for his keen interest and sponsorship for awareness programme to let the people of Zunheboto be aware of consumer protection and rights.
